Chelsea are on the verge of completing the signing of Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa, with the England international arriving in London on Monday morning to undergo his medical ahead of a proposed £117 million transfer.
According to Sky Sports, the 23-year-old is expected to sign a six-year contract at Stamford Bridge, with the agreement including an option to extend his stay by an additional year until 2033.

Rogers travelled back from the United States on Sunday after helping England secure a third-place finish at the 2026 FIFA World Cup before immediately beginning the final stages of his transfer.
The move is expected to be completed in the coming days, subject to the successful completion of his medical examinations and the signing of the necessary paperwork.

Chelsea reportedly moved swiftly to secure the highly-rated attacking midfielder after learning of interest from Arsenal, who had identified Rogers as their leading attacking target during the summer transfer window.
However, Arsenal were unwilling to meet Aston Villa’s valuation, allowing Chelsea to take the lead in negotiations and agree on a deal with the Midlands club.
If finalised, the £117 million fee will make Rogers the most expensive British footballer in history, surpassing the previous domestic transfer record.
The signing further underlines Chelsea’s continued investment in young talent as the club looks to strengthen its squad ahead of the new campaign.
Rogers enjoyed an impressive season with Aston Villa, establishing himself as one of the Premier League’s brightest young attacking players through his creativity, versatility and eye for goal.
