Ipswich Town are closing in on the signing of Black Stars winger Abdul Fatawu from Leicester City in a deal reportedly worth around £20 million.
The move, if completed, would represent one of Ipswich’s biggest signings in recent years as the club looks to strengthen its squad ahead of the new Premier League season.
According to reports, negotiations between the two clubs have progressed significantly after an initial offer was rejected. The parties have now reportedly reached a verbal agreement, with the Ghana international expected to undergo a medical before the transfer is finalised.

Fatawu, 22, joined Leicester City from Portuguese side Sporting CP and quickly established himself as one of the club’s exciting attacking talents.
Known for his pace, dribbling ability and creativity on the wings, the Ghanaian impressed despite Leicester’s difficult campaign, earning praise for his performances and work ethic.

Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna is said to view Fatawu as a key addition capable of adding speed, width and attacking quality as the club prepares for the challenges of Premier League football.
The winger’s arrival would also provide greater competition in the attacking department while giving Ipswich another player with experience at both club and international level.
Fatawu has become an important member of Ghana’s national team, featuring for the Black Stars in major international competitions and World Cup qualifiers.
His performances for both club and country have attracted interest from several European clubs, making Ipswich’s pursuit a significant statement of intent in the transfer market.
