According to Prophet Kumchacha, many churches invest significant resources into creating comfortable and attractive worship environments for members, and such efforts should be considered when making offerings.

He explained that churches spend money on facilities such as air conditioners, maintenance and other improvements aimed at making worship more convenient for congregants.

“Sometimes, people should be considerate. When we say considerate, I mean that when you attend a church that has air conditioning, see how tidy the environment is kept, and then, after the service, it’s time to give an offering and you give a cedi or 2 Cedis, you are a wicked person,” he stated.

The preacher argued that members should recognise the financial responsibilities involved in running a church and contribute accordingly.

His comments have sparked discussions among Ghanaians, with some agreeing that church members should support religious institutions financially, while others believe giving should remain voluntary and based on individual capacity.

Critics have also argued that the value of an offering should not be judged solely by the amount given, as some members may contribute based on their personal financial situations.

The debate over church offerings and financial contributions has been a recurring topic in Ghana, with religious leaders often encouraging members to support church activities and development projects.

Prophet Kumchacha, known for his outspoken views on social and religious issues, has over the years generated public conversations with his comments on matters affecting Ghanaian society.
