JHS Girl Slashes Boy with Cutlass After Alleged Repeated Breast Touching During School Clean-Up
A Junior High School (JHS) 1 student is receiving medical treatment after allegedly being slashed with a cutlass by a JHS 2 female student during a school clean-up exercise at Assin Krofofrodo D/A Basic School in the Assin North District of the Central Region.
The incident reportedly occurred after school authorities assigned students to clear overgrown vegetation on the school compound using cutlasses.
According to the female student, the boy repeatedly touched her breasts while they were working despite several warnings for him to stop.
She alleged that she repeatedly cautioned him against the behaviour, but he ignored her warnings and continued touching her inappropriately.
Enraged by the alleged conduct, the 15-year-old girl reportedly picked up a cutlass and slashed the boy on his inner wrist.
The victim sustained a deep cut and reportedly bled profusely before being taken to a nearby hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.
Meanwhile, the injured boy’s family has accused the school authorities of negligence, claiming they failed to respond appropriately after the incident occurred during school hours.
According to the family, teachers did not immediately arrange medical care for the student despite the severity of his injury, forcing relatives to intervene after the boy’s parent returned from the farm.
Speaking on behalf of the family, the victim’s elder sister, Joyce Enyan, called on the police to investigate both the incident and the school’s handling of the situation.
“He said a female colleague inflicted a cutlass wound on him while they were playing. He says he wrapped his arm around her neck and mistakenly touched her breast,” she said.
She further alleged that teachers did not give the injured student adequate attention after the incident.
“The teachers didn’t pay much attention to him after the injury. He nearly passed out. His shirt was completely drenched with blood.”
The girl’s account differs from that of the victim, as she maintains that the touching was repeated and continued despite several warnings.
Police are expected to investigate the incident to establish the full circumstances surrounding the altercation.
