Ghana Superfan Obour Reportedly Denied Entry to Stadium Over Ticket Issues

Popular Ghanaian football supporter known as Obour was left visibly disappointed after he was reportedly denied entry to a stadium ahead of Ghana’s World Cup fixture against England.
Obour, who is instantly recognisable for his striking match-day appearance full white body paint, traditional regalia, and a large Ghana-flag decorated pot balanced on his head was seen outside the stadium after officials turned him away.
According to a video circulating online, the passionate supporter explained that he was stopped at the entrance due to ticket issues.
“When I was entering, they said I didn’t have a ticket,” he said.
The footage, which has since gone viral, shows Obour appearing crestfallen as he stood outside the venue despite his elaborate preparation and long-standing reputation as one of Ghana’s most dedicated supporters.
The video was captioned with a call for the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to improve arrangements for supporters, especially those who represent Ghana in unique and visible ways at international tournaments.
Many fans online have also expressed disappointment over the incident, arguing that well-known supporters who consistently travel and promote Ghana on the global stage should receive better consideration in ticketing and logistics planning.
The situation has sparked renewed discussions about access control and fan management at major tournaments involving the Black Stars.
Ghana’s match against England, a crucial Group L encounter at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, continues to attract massive attention both on and off the pitch.
