Adwoa Safo referred to Bank Hospital for removal of bullet pellets lodged in her head

Sarah Adwoa Safo has reportedly been referred from the 37 Military Hospital to the Bank Hospital in Accra for specialist treatment after medical examinations allegedly revealed bullet pellets and shattered glass fragments lodged close to her brain.

The former Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya sustained injuries during a shooting incident on June 21 at a residence linked to her younger brother, Israel Kwadwo Safo, popularly known as Akofena.

Speaking to journalists while receiving treatment, Adwoa Safo disclosed that doctors discovered what are believed to be bullet pellets and broken glass embedded in her head following the incident.

According to her, specialists at the 37 Military Hospital recommended that she be transferred to the Bank Hospital, where a team of experts is expected to undertake procedures aimed at removing the foreign objects and reducing the risk of further medical complications.

The former lawmaker indicated that the transfer was necessary to ensure she receives advanced specialist care as part of her recovery process.

The incident has generated widespread concern among relatives, political associates, and supporters, many of whom have expressed hope for her swift and full recovery.

As of now, medical officials have not publicly announced when the planned procedure to remove the reported fragments will take place.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the shooting incident are expected to continue as authorities gather further information.
