Ghanaian highlife legend Dada KD passed away on Friday, May 16, 2025. According to Nana Romeo, a close associate of the late musician, Dada KD’s manager found him struggling to speak at his home and rushed him to the Gbawe Government Hospital. After a few hours, he was pronounced dead.
The circumstances surrounding his death are quite shocking, as Dada KD had shown no signs of illness prior to his sudden collapse. In the days leading up to his death, he had been voicing frustrations over financial hardships and the poor royalty system in the Ghanaian music industry.
