Today, Ghana witnessed a historic change in the election of speakership as Alban Sumana Bagbin from the NDC was elected as the 8th speaker of parliament of the 4th republic.
It is clear the candidate nominated by the ruling party, thus NPP was unable to win the race to become Speaker of Parliament for the second time.
Instead, the opposition candidate won the election carried out and voted for by members of parliament.
The results show that 2 MPs of the ruling NPP didn’t vote for their party’s candidate after the election.
