Rome-Jayden Owusu-Oduro, the talented goalkeeper for AZ Alkmaar, has dismissed speculation about playing for Ghana’s national team. Despite his Ghanaian heritage, Owusu-Oduro has chosen to represent the Netherlands, where he was born.
The young goalkeeper has already made a name for himself, representing the Netherlands at the under-20 level and helping AZ Alkmaar win the UEFA Youth League title. His impressive skills have earned him recognition, including being featured as a “wonderkid” in Football Manager 2022.
Owusu-Oduro has also made his debut for AZ Alkmaar’s senior team, coming on as a substitute in a 3-1 win over Valencia. With his talent and experience, it’s clear that he has a bright future ahead of him, and for now, that future is with the Netherlands.
