The Newly Opened Nana Agyemang Prempeh I International Airport Was Shut Down.

The newly opened Nana Agyemang Prempeh I International Airport was shut down due to uncompleted buldings.

On Friday, the President of the Land, Nana Akuffo Addo, and Ashantihene Otumfour Osei Tutu II commissioned the Nana Agyemang Prempeh I International Airport.

However, the newly commissioned airport was shut down again following the event since construction on it had not been finished.

Passengers who had flown to Kumasi and back were expected to utilize the newly commissioned airport, but were instead ordered to use the old one.

Nana Yaa Brefo, a radio and television celebrity who also used the old airport, claimed that her checks suggested that the newly commissioned airport was not yet ready, but they had to rush to open it.

According to her, construction on the Nana Agyemang Prempeh International Airport is still proceeding, with full operations expected to begin in September.

She stated, “After the Kumasi International Airport was commissioned yesterday, it was shut down again. I have heard that the airport will open in June, but full operation is scheduled for September.

“Despite its commissioning yesterday, we were unable to utilize it. So, we are still utilizing the old airport.”
